Yesterday I had a chance to visit Bill Annis at the Fox Country Smokehouse in Canterbury, NH. Bill was smoking some fresh sharp cheddar cheese in the original smoker to replenish the depleted stock.

It’s hard to imagine a Summer without Rose Wine or fresh tomato and basil: they bring an extra slice of fun to the Summer picnic. I love to seek out other establishments that understand that kind of thing. That’s why I’m big on supporting local food shops and restaurants around New Hampshire. It’s important to keep this concept alive and seek out those that contribute culinary charm to our lives, and then share those finds with others. Here are a some of my New Hampshire Summer favorites:
